Thankful Looks Good on Me

Real Talk Vol. 13

Thanksgiving used to be about full plates and full houses.

This year, it’s about a full heart.

I’ve learned that gratitude doesn’t have to be loud.

Sometimes it’s quiet moments that remind you,

you made it through things you never thought you’d survive.

I’m thankful for waking up today.

For my sweet Kannon boy,

who teaches me unconditional love just by existing.

I’m thankful for my own place.

My car.

My independence.

The peace that comes from building a life that’s mine.

I’m thankful for clarity,

the kind that only comes after confusion.

I’m thankful for writing,

my forever outlet.

The thing that saved me more times than I can count.

I’m thankful for my best friend, V,

she’s proof that soul connections don’t need blood to feel like family.

I’m thankful for myself.

For not breaking.

For the strength it takes to keep showing up.

For music that heals,

art that inspires,

and travel that reminds me the world is bigger than my worries.

Gratitude isn’t just a list.

It’s a way of seeing.

A way of slowing down and realizing that peace lives here,

right now,

in the life I prayed for.

And if this year taught me anything,

it’s that thankful looks good on me.
