Growth Changes the Room
Real Talk Vol. 21
Not everyone you meet in life is meant to go to every level with you.
Some people are lower level for a reason.
And no, that doesn’t mean they’re beneath you.
This isn’t about being better than.
It’s about recognizing who’s evolving,
and who’s content staying exactly where they are.
Some people crave growth.
Some people crave comfort.
Neither is wrong.
What is wrong is forcing a connection
when the alignment is gone.
What is wrong is staying on a level
you’ve already surpassed
out of loyalty, guilt, or history.
I’ve learned that growth creates distance,
not because anyone failed,
but because life pulls people in different directions.
I’ve felt it with friends.
With lovers.
Even with family.
And at first, the distance feels personal.
Like loss.
Like abandonment.
But sometimes it’s just evolution doing its job.
You don’t have to drag people forward.
You don’t have to shrink yourself to stay relatable.
And you don’t have to apologize
for becoming someone new.
Growth asks for honesty.
With yourself first.
If you’re evolving
and someone else isn’t,
that doesn’t make either of you wrong.
It just means the chapter changed.
And it’s okay to keep going.
