The Unspoken Rules of Girls’ Trips
Real Talk Vol. 56
Every girls’ trip follows the same rules.
Nobody writes them down.
Nobody reads them out loud.
And yet…
Somehow, we all know them.
Rule number one.
We’re having fun.
I don’t care if the flight was delayed.
If somebody forgot their charger.
If it starts raining.
We’re making memories anyway.
Rule number two.
Come hungry.
Half the itinerary somehow revolves around food, and I’m perfectly okay with that.
Rule number three.
Pictures are mandatory.
We didn’t spend an hour getting ready just to leave with three blurry photos.
We’re documenting this.
Rule number four.
One conversation will unexpectedly become therapy.
It starts with, “Can I tell y’all something?”
Three hours later, everybody’s crying, laughing, hugging, and ordering dessert.
Rule number five.
Be down for the random idea.
The coffee shop we accidentally found.
The boutique nobody planned to visit.
The late-night walk.
The excursion we booked ten minutes ago.
Sometimes the unplanned moments become the best ones.
And finally…
What happens on the girls’ trip…
Stays on the girls’ trip.
No further questions.
I love girls’ trips because they’re about more than the destination.
They’re about slowing down.
Laughing until your stomach hurts.
Cheering each other on.
Making inside jokes that somehow stay funny for years.
And leaving with a camera roll full of memories you’ll smile at long after the trip is over.
The itinerary matters.
But the people you’re sharing it with matter even more.
That’s what makes a girls’ trip unforgettable.
