The Kids Question
Real Talk Vol. 54
Apparently birth rates are declining.
And…
I’m part of the statistics.
Not because I don’t like kids.
I actually do.
I can absolutely see motherhood in my future.
Just…
not today.
Right now, I enjoy sleeping in on my days off.
I enjoy quiet mornings.
I enjoy coming home after work and sitting in silence for a while.
And honestly, Kannon already keeps me busy enough.
Being a dog mom has been its own adventure.
Walks.
Vet appointments.
Treats.
Toys.
Wondering what he’s chewing now.
It’s responsibility.
Just with a lot more tail wags.
People love asking,
“So… when are you having kids?”
And I get it.
But I don’t think life follows one timeline.
Some people become parents in their twenties.
Some later in life.
Some decide parenthood isn’t for them.
Every path is different.
Right now, this chapter fits me.
Maybe motherhood will become part of my story.
Maybe it won’t.
But I’m not rushing this chapter just because someone else is living a different one.
Right now…
This chapter fits me.
And honestly…
I’m enjoying every page.
