Real Talk Vol. 61
The weather isn’t the only thing going through changes right now.
Apparently, my entire life got the memo.
And nobody thought to give me a heads-up?
Because lately, it feels like every department of my life has decided to make some adjustments.
My mental health.
My body.
My marriage.
My home.
Even my dog!
Yes, the dog.
Apparently, Kannon has allergies now.
Sir, since when?
As if we didn’t already have enough going on.
And don’t even get me started on moving.
A new home sounds wonderful until you’re surrounded by boxes, trying to remember where you packed something you literally had yesterday.
Suddenly, you’re making decisions about furniture placement, learning a new area, and figuring out new routines.
Meanwhile, the rest of life is still happening.
Work doesn’t stop.
Relationships still require attention.
And your body?
Oh, she’s going through her own little renovation.
At this point, I’m just trying to keep up.
But here’s the thing.
I’m not upset about these changes.
Some were planned.
Some were necessary.
And some showed up completely uninvited.
I’m looking at you, Kannon’s allergies.
I’ve realized life doesn’t always introduce change one thing at a time.
Sometimes everything shifts at once.
Some days, I’m excited.
Other days, I’m overwhelmed.
And sometimes I just want everybody, including my own body, to cooperate for five minutes.
Is that too much to ask?
Apparently.
Still, I’m learning to give myself room to adjust.
To figure out what works, what doesn’t, and what might need a little more patience.
Because not every change needs to be figured out overnight.
So while the leaves are changing colors and the temperatures are dropping, I’m experiencing my own seasonal update.
New surroundings.
New routines.
A few unexpected plot twists.
And one very itchy dog.
It’s a lot.
But I’m embracing it.
One adjustment at a time.
